Carlos Castellanos,
Jr. joined Thompson and Colegate LLP as an
Associate in 2022. Prior to Thompson and
Colegate, Carlos worked as a
corporate/transactional associate at a small
firm in Orange County, CA since 2021
servicing start-up companies around the
world.
In 2019, he
graduated from UCLA School of Law where he
earned his Juris Doctorate degree
with an emphasis in Public Interest Law and
Policy. While in law school, Carlos served
as a Student Body Representative, a Writing
Advisor for first-year students, a research
assistant to Former UCLA Law Dean, Rachel
Moran, mentor for the UCLA Law Fellows
Program, and was a member of the Latinx Law
Student Association.
Carlos is a
first-generation Mexican-American who grew
up in the Inland Empire. He attended
Coronita Elementary, Loma Vista Middle
School, and Norte Vista High School. Carlos
was the
first in Norte Vista history to earn the
Gates Millennium Scholarship, granting him a
full ride
undergraduate scholarship to UCLA. At UCLA,
Carlos received a B.A. in Political Science,
with
a Minor in Philosophy. Carlos now resides in
Riverside with his family, where he enjoys
helping
first-generation students apply to college
and graduate school, finding the best tacos
in the
region, and playing competitive soccer.
